Junior Landscape Designer

H. T. Harvey & Associates is always on the lookout for highly-qualified landscape designers to join the landscape architecture group in our San Francisco Bay Area office..

What you’ll do
As a member of the landscape architecture group, you’ll have the opportunity to help with analyzing site conditions, developing conceptual designs and construction documents, preparing client and public presentation materials, overseeing construction, and participating in long-term monitoring. Project managers will mentor you and help you develop your skills as a landscape designer. You will also have the opportunity to work with other H. T. Harvey & Associates ecologists to deepen your knowledge of the habitats and species of the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.

What are some of the important projects that the landscape architecture group works on?
Our mission is to help clients address their complex ecological challenges. We get to do some pretty interesting things! For example, we:

  • Lead a team in the planning and design of a 9-acre park, on the San Francisco Bay shoreline, that will create tidal marsh and transition zone habitats and educate the public on sea level rise and Bay ecology.
  • Integrate native habitat into urban campus planning and design for large companies in the region.
  • Are working with the City of San Jose’s Department of Parks to assist with planning, monitoring, maintenance, and regulatory compliance of mitigation projects.
  • Collaborate with our restoration ecologists and hydrologist project partners to design a complex floodplain and California sycamore restoration site.

Who works at H. T. Harvey & Associates?

We really do read the cover letter–it’s an opportunity to share with us some of the things that might not come through in a traditional resume or in your design samples.
