Chris Strasser is a landscape designer with a strong background in design, graphic representation, and ecology. She specializes in site planning, urban ecological design, and construction document preparation. Chris has a broad understanding of human use and ecological issues, and a keen ability to create human-scale spaces that allow people and nature to gracefully coexist. She has showcased these skills in her work on projects involving park and open space design, bike and pedestrian circulation, and urban ecosystems.

At H. T. Harvey & Associates, Chris contributes to a range of projects, from large-scale master planning to site-specific design and construction documentation. She develops high-quality graphics that clearly communicate design intent and technical details to broad audiences, and facilitates successful outreach to community groups, NGOs, project regulators, and our clients to build consensus and project buy-in. In addition, her organization and management skills foster efficient and successful collaboration on complex, multidisciplinary projects with large project teams.

Examples of her project roles include:

  • Managing and designing a project to safely connect Google’s Sunnyvale, California, campuses and provide public, multimodal access between transit stops, workplaces, and open spaces.
  • Leading the landscape design for Mountain View’s Green Loop bike and pedestrian trail project, incorporating enhancements for user access, stormwater management, and urban wildlife habitat.
  • Helping design Bay Trail and Facebook campus circulation projects in Menlo Park, in San Mateo County; designs included sustainable and ecology-forward trail improvements, campus improvements, habitat enhancements, and regional connections for people who bike, walk, drive, and take buses and shuttles.

Chris received an M.L.A. from the University of Michigan and a B.S. in Political Science and International Studies from the University of Wisconsin.
