Lauren De Silva is a landscape designer and project manager with a background in all phases of professional design, from site assessments, to conceptual designs, to detailed construction documentation. She is a responsive and holistic thinker who creates budget-conscious, innovative, and sustainable designs. Reflecting her precision, communication skills, and eye for detail, her designs translate readily into biddable and constructible projects. Lauren also has experience following Universal Design principles and Americans with Disabilities Act standards for accessible design.

At H. T. Harvey & Associates, Lauren has contributed her expertise to dozens of landscape architecture projects for a variety of clients, industries, and habitat types. She works on habitat restoration, park, trail, and open space projects, including projects at the interface of natural systems and the urban environment. She is adept in using AutoCAD and Adobe Creative suite to develop and communicate her work.

Examples of her project roles include:

  • Designing habitat restoration for approximately 11.5 miles of Upper Llagas Creek, covering 108 acres of riparian habitat and a 4-acre wetland complex in Morgan Hill, in Santa Clara County, California.

  • Helping to design and support construction of a project that reconnected former floodplain with the Carmel River channel, expanding flood capacity and creating contiguous habitat near State Route 1 on California’s Central Coast.

  • Assisting with the design and monitoring of projects at the Presidio of San Francisco, including restoration of coastal scrub, prairie, historical forest, and riparian areas at locations such as Baker Beach, remediated landfills, and fill sites.

  • Designing key pedestrian and bike improvements and providing construction support for a public-private effort to improve circulation around and across the Charleston retention basin in Mountain View, California, while enhancing and restoring habitat.

  • Contributing to the design of habitat restoration plans, sustainable campus landscapes, and improvements to the trail user experience along nearly 1 mile of a public trail and throughout the Facebook campus in Menlo Park, California.

Lauren earned an M.L.A. from the University of Michigan School of Natural Resources and Environment. She received a B.A. in History of Art and a B.A. in Spanish from the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and Art.
