Rachel Visscher is a landscape architect at H. T. Harvey & Associates, with a background in design and planning. She contributes to master plans, develops conceptual designs, and prepares construction documents in support of the design and planning process for various project types, including trail and open space, urban ecology, and habitat restoration projects. Rachel also has experience thoughtfully incorporating Universal Design principles and Americans with Disabilities Act  standards into site design.

Examples of her work include:

  • Helping promote innovative planning and detailed design, and provided construction support of ecological and circulation improvements throughout Facebook’s campus in Menlo Park. Within the campus led the complex collaboration, planning, and detailed design to provide safe and legible transportation design for people who bike, walk, drive, and take buses and shuttle;
  • Serving as designer for Charleston retention expansion and public access design project, a unique public-private effort to improve circulation around and across the Charleston retention basin in Mountain View while enhancing and restoring habitat. Designed key pedestrian and bicycle improvements;
  • Serving as designer for habitat restoration of approximately 11.5 miles of creek, restoring 108 acres of riparian habitat and a 4-acre wetland complex for the Upper Llagas Creek Flood Protection Project in Morgan Hill, for the Santa Clara Valley Water District and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Rachel received an MLA and MUP from the University of Michigan and a BA in Studio Art and German from Calvin College.
