Charles McClain, M.S.

Associate Ecologist,
Restoration Ecology

Charles McClain is a senior restoration ecologist with more than 20 years of experience. His breadth of skills includes habitat restoration, monitoring, and management; riparian, wetland, grassland, and oak woodland ecology; invasive species detection, mapping, and treatment; cattle grazing infrastructure and residual dry matter monitoring; and scientific research. Charles monitors habitat development at restoration sites; develops restoration planting, maintenance, and monitoring plans; performs wetland delineations; and conducts plant community assessments, including oak regeneration studies and grazing utilization mapping. He applies his expertise to document progress toward meeting required vegetation, wildlife, and hydrology success criteria at mitigation sites.

Charles received an M.S. in Biology from California State University, Chico, and a B.A. in Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
