Mark is the leader of H. T. Harvey’s geographic information systems (GIS) group. Throughout his career, Mark has worked closely with biologists and engineers to develop and apply spatial data on large, complex projects. He has managed more than 300 GIS projects for client reports, including detailed analysis of stream banks, spatial analysis of species of special concern, and mapping of wetlands and marshes.

Mark uses Esri ’s ArcGIS Advanced, 3D Analyst, and Spatial Analyst and heads up the company’s ArcGIS Online effort. Notable contributions to our client projects include:

  • Development of ground-breaking survey methods and spatial analysis of special-status plant and wildlife species populations in the California Valley Solar Ranch Project region.
  • Long-term, detailed mapping and spatial and temporal modeling analysis of marsh plant associations in South San Francisco Bay supporting the evaluation of freshwater discharge impacts on South Bay marshes.
  • GIS analysis of 600 linear miles of stream banks within a 1-million-acre Colusa basin watershed.
  • Extensive mapping of biotic habitat along transmission corridors proposed for Southern California Edison’s Tehachapi Renewable Transmission Project

Mark has a B.S. in marine biology from Nicholls State University and regularly attends Esri and GIS training courses to stay current with the ever-expanding GIS field.
